Across consumer electronics sales categories, computers and TV sets have grown much faster than smartphones in the past three years globally, likely due to COVID-19 restrictions and more time spent working and learning from home. While computer sales increased 34%, and TV sales grew 12% in that time, smartphone sales edged up just 1%, according to a Deloitte analysis. As a result, smartphones’ share of combined sales dollars for the three device categories has fallen from 65% to 60%.
